We’re Hiring: Skilled Cabinet & Furniture Maker

Join the Hamilton Holmes Workshop in Downtown Hamilton

Hamilton Holmes is expanding, and we’re looking for a Skilled Cabinet & Furniture Maker to join our growing studio. This role is ideal for a craftsperson who brings both precision and intuition to their work—someone who understands that great design is built on thoughtful fabrication, attention to detail, and respect for materials.

For us, craftsmanship is not just a technique; it’s a mindset. We build custom cabinetry, millwork, and furniture for residential and commercial projects across Canada. Each piece we create is approached with care, discipline, and a commitment to excellence. If you’re inspired by meaningful work and want to contribute to a team that values both creativity and rigor, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

The Skilled Cabinet & Furniture Maker will work closely with our team to produce high-quality custom millwork and furniture pieces. You’ll be responsible for building and installing cabinetry, interpreting detailed plans and shop drawings, and bringing precision to every stage of fabrication—from joinery and hardware installation to finishing techniques.

This is a full-time role based in downtown Hamilton, offering long-term opportunities for growth, mentorship, and skill development within a collaborative, design-driven environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is comfortable working in both the shop and on-site installations, who communicates clearly, and who thrives in a team that operates with focus and pride. A successful candidate will bring:

  • 2+ years experience building and installing cabinetry

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow plans and shop drawings

  • Strong knowledge of joinery, hardware installation, and finishing techniques

  • Confidence working with woodworking machinery and hand tools

  • Furniture-making experience (an asset)

  • Excellent attention to detail and refined craftsmanship

  • Resilience and problem-solving skills on evolving project needs

  • A collaborative mindset and professional communication

  • Comfort working in both the shop and on-site environments

Why Join Hamilton Holmes?

At Hamilton Holmes, we believe in creating work we’re proud of—pieces that are built to last and shaped with intention. Our team is composed of skilled makers who value quality, integrity, and continuous learning.

Joining us means becoming part of a workshop culture where craftsmanship is respected, design is celebrated, and every project is approached with ambition and care.
