Project: Mountain Brow Bathroom
Date: January 2016
Work: Bathroom vanity including large mirror, hanging cabinet and crown moulding.
Notes: The challenge on this project was to create a bathroom that had a large and open feeling, despite the fact that the size of the room was average.
One great way to make a room feel large is to use mirrors. There is no shortage of reflection in this space with the large dominant vanity mirror as well as mirrored doors on the hanging cabinet. In order to still provide light to the vanity user, we mounted the lighting sconces directly on the glass. This is a tricky move because there is a very high risk of breaking the glass when mounting the lights, but we succeeded on this project and the result was a very sophisticated approach to a huge mirror.
The neutral painted cabinets are jazzed up by not only the mirrors, but also by the stunning quartz countertop that stretches across the vanity and behind the toilet, tying the whole wall together.
The final touch of class is the 6" crown moulding that make the ceiling feel taller, and gives a defined end to the cabinetry.
