Project: Modern Farmhouse

Date: Autumn 2017

Work: Full kitchen renovation: Cabinetry, island, bar, pantry

Notes: This project involved a main floor renovation--new flooring, wall colour, light fixtures and cabinetry. The cabinetry was intentionally straight forward and minimal, which allowed the wood elements to stand out as accents. Details like the AGA range with integrated pot filling fixture, and the X pattern on the end of the island makes this project stand out. We used our classic 6" crown detail to bring the cabinets to the ceiling, which reinforced the seamless impact of the oven wall.  It has just enough details that make this small-ish space shine with style.

Although the cabinetry was straight forward, we utilized some flare in the finishing. For example, the grey island adds interest and distinction, while the 2" maple butcher block top really reinforced the fact that this kitchen would be used for cooking. Another favourite finish detail is the black granite countertops that have a leathered finish. These choices make a kitchen that is overflowing with character and interest.
